Bio

Just three friends in college who make music as a hobby on the low, two writers/rappers (Dylusional, Vaztastic) and a producer (Gas) just tryna make songs people can vibe with , inspired by our friend Austyn Pfiefer, we love you man.

Song Lyrics

(Vaztastic)
I knew my friends would truly be my family
no blood relation to any but
many man yeah you see
friendships never broken when we sippin on the hennesey
adoption is crazy but destined together we gon' make a legacy
group of kids with stupid aaa tendencies
you mend with me come vibe with me
cause we just be
smokin for our remedies
rough life with these extremities
I'm hiding from them deputies
bumpin to those melodies
you know that's Austyn's specialty
kids from the same town got the homies lookin down
always gonna rock a smile never have a frown
love in our hearts I pray it world renowned
I hope you all be safe I hope you all be sound
like sully in the Hudson I know where to land
Feel like OBJ catching vibes with one hand
reason why I love tie dye and the sweatpants
layers in the headbands corona on my night stand
reason why I'm rocking jerseys over my sweater
hes the reason that I'm happy no matter what the weather
you know hes the reason why Don't Doubt be together
forever show no mercy there's no way that I'll surrender

(Dylusional)
R.I.P AP Imma tell you what I know
If Austyn was on netflix it would be my favorite show
you're the reason I started writing and generating my flows
you're the reason my hair long it reaches down to my toes
you're the reason we on soundcloud finding all the hits
you're the reason I started writing and making beats to spit
we be boxin in the field hair like the corn rows
ain't no skiing in the summer only happy when it snows
you're the reason that I'm catching the fish I'll admit
went from rippin lips on fish to assists on the pitch
throwback to when to started playing soccer long ago
now I'm here for you grinding nightly in the studio
you're the reason I wear shirts too big they don't fit
you're the reason I won't stop nope I'll never quit
now I'm bumpin Nav, Yachty, Nessley, on my stereo
eatin beats for breakfast packin bowls filled with cheerios
you're the reason I throw the shocker in all my pics
we hit ski jumps on the pond started stuntin and poppin tricks
you're the reason for this song I hope you think that it's dope
you're the reason I like FIFA used to call me the pro
got the camo pants on they sag low when I sit
playlists you created are what we be vibin with
you're the reason my goals are never reaching down below
you're the reason I share memories with all the people I know
you no longer have to worry I'll keep in touch with the bros
spread your wings fly like a dove it's time we just let you go

Song: Black to Blue

Bio

Our band was born out of an yearning to hit the road, a love of old VW buses, and a deep friendship that started in college.

We both headed west to pursue our careers out of school, and both returned home to New England after feeling unfulfilled and unexcited with our paths. So it was back to the drawing board for us, where we revisited old college conversations about living Vanlife out on the road, traveling through the country and playing music as nomadic bums in our dream machines.

The next year we manifested our vision, working hard to find the right vehicles for our travels and fixing them up ourselves. The Vanagon is named Sedona, the VW bus is Dharma.

And last May we finally met up in Burlington Vermont and hit the road.

We lived in the Rockies for the summer as campground hosts and would rush down to Boulder on the weekends to play on the streets downtown. We wrote songs around our campfire and soon started playing weekly for the campground under a pavilion overlooking the Indian Peaks. Our greatest gig of the Summer was at the Vanlife Gathering of Colorado where we were featured around the fire for the night.

We dashed back East to hibernate in Portland for the Winter and plan to stick around til the following Fall, working to keep playing and growing the Tanglers while collaborating with our friends in Happy Folk.

Song Lyrics

You kissed the moon child
And made him break
We made love in
Better days
From black to blue
And from blue to grey
We made love in better days
And I don't want you back

Everyday was just a sign
Loving you was loving a lie
So long live the king
That lives inside of me
He don't need no
Cold heart queen
And I don't want you back
And I don't want you back

I stand my ground
I have no shame
I'll shoot you down in
Your petty games
You walk like sunshine
But you brought the rain
I left you once babe
I'll do it again
And I don't want you back
And I don't want you back

So here's to you
And cheers to me
I wish you well
But don't cross my street
Now move along honey
This is goodbye
I know your tricks so
Don't start to try
And I don't want you back
And I don't want you back

Song: Taken

Bio

My name is Cody. I've been rather afraid of putting music out on my own in the past few years. I found out about the competition through a friend and thought I'd give it a try. I'm very dedicated to music and want to make it my career. My biggest influence is Ed Sheeran although I don't know how much of his influence you'll notice in my music besides an acoustic guitar. Thanks for checking my song out!

You're also welcome to add me on Facebook, Follow me on Twitter, Instagram etc. I don't have youtube and although I don't use it much, my snapchat is codybernard64

Song Lyrics

You are the one
I hold dear
You are the one
who showed no fear
You are the one
I need
Why have you gone
from me?

It took me months
took me years woah

Taken from me
Gone from me
Now I believe
Taken from me
Gone from me
Now I can see

You were the soul
I could feel
My heart is a hole
Getting deeper
My mind is full
please help me

It took me months
Took me years Woah

Taken from me
Gone from me
Now I believe
Taken from me
Gone from me
Now I can see

And as the days go by
I can see myself without you

Now you’re taken from me
Gone from me
Now I believe
Taken from me
Gone from me
Now I can see

perpetual consequence seems to run my life
I cant understand that which is in front of me
just because they shine doesn't mean I can see the light

first and foremost I must take all the time I need with this
I'm shattering stereotypes with my back against the wall
I cast aside the constant feeling I cant seem to hide
one wrong step and Ive lost it all

Song Lyrics

I couldn't raise a kid in this world
Gun violence, rape, war
There’s no silence
We're cast into corruption and greed
Up from the top to leave the bottom in agony
Who is using their head before they pull the trigger? There's an ocean dividing us but you're making it bigger If we had a cure to end the hurt,
Would it be revealed or would we still be cursed? Our world is lost
There's something to be said
For an entire existence taken for granted
A lost boy in a cursed world, forever running in circles
Take me out of this world
There's nothing left but this endless hurt
If we don't begin again
Release our demons, start a rebellion
How do we fix what's already broken?
Too many years and nothing’s working
What will it take for us to realize
Hatred is the killer, our hope, our hope will die My world, your world
Our world is cursed
There's something to be said
For an entire existence taken for granted
A lost boy in a cursed world, forever running in circles There's nothing left to say
Your entire existence taken for granted
A lost boy in a cursed world, forever stuck in the cycle
They call us the broken generation
But I chose hope over hoping they were wrong
And they will be, so all I can do is be a leader of change Not just a kid with something prove
Stained with rage and a distaste for pain
Corrupting the corruption will make me no better
When my words are still seen as Lucifer’s love letter
I could set my house on fire to get you out
But its not yours so I’ll put this match out for now
Just know in a world silenced by oppression Acceptance speaks loud, but love speaks louder

Sound Off: The Resistance

Song: Rock N' Roll Man

Bio

One day, sometime in mid July of 2010, a 16 year old Jerad Smith decided to put an ad up on Craigslist, claiming that he had a band that was in need of a teenage singer. On that same day, a 14 year old Sierra Carey decided to post an ad on Craigslist saying that she was a singer searching for a band. A few messages, some creepy old guys, and a phone call later, "The Resistance" was born...

"The Resistance" is a hard rock band based out of Burnham, Maine, and is comprised of Sierra Carey on lead vocals, Jerad Smith on lead guitar, Justin Burnell on rhythm guitar, and Ayden Young on drums. The band officially formed on October 8th, 2010.

Throughout the years, "The Resistance" has played all over the state of Maine. From Howland, to East Port, to Portland, and all in between. They have also played some successful shows outside of Maine, including the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston and a few packed bars in New Hampshire. They have played multiple fairs and festivals throughout the state of Maine, and have even shared the stage with past winner of "The Voice": Cassadee Pope. They also had the privilege of playing at a meet and greet for the band "Seether".

Recently, the band has gone through a major change in members. Sierra and Jerad have been original members since the beginning, but they had to add two new guys: Ayden and Justin. They have really stepped up to the plate and proved themselves to be the talented, dedicated, and hard working musicians they are. They were a perfect fit.

When asked where they thought they would be in the next 10 years, they responded with: "We don't think about it. In a perfect world, we'd be playing for thousands of people, sharing the stage with some of our idols, and living the dream. But we choose to think day-to-day. In 10 years, we might be getting married and have kids running around at our feet, or we might be rocking out around the world. Either way, this band will be our life, and we'll still be playing music. No matter what happens, music will always be there. Where the future is never set in stone, music is. Music is definite when nothing else is. No matter what, we'll be playing music. That's what we'll be doing for the next 10 years, and the rest of our lives."

Song Lyrics

I never wanted to get drunk every night,
Say I'm in a band, or even call it mine.
I never felt the need to tattoo my face,
I'd rather spend my money on a new road case.

The rock n' roll man, he said:
"Listen here, hun,
I see you're in a band, I won't tell anyone.
You only live once, and you're pretty young.
Let's get drunk and have us some fun."

I don't need drugs to get me where I'm goin',
Only six strings and I can't stop playin'.
I only need your love to stop me from breakin'.
You gotta feel it to hear what I'm sayin'.

Well I guess us youngin's, we're doin' alright.
Without that cheap fix, that whisky and wine.
That girl there, Molly, she can mess with your mind.
We'll be on a stage, you'll be wasting your time.

The rock n' roll man, he said:
"You know where you are?
You ain't no millionaire, ain't no movie star.
We do it all the time, we've got pretty far.
Playin' to ourselves in run-down bars."

I don't need drugs to get me where I'm goin',
Only six strings and I can't stop playin'.
I only need your love to stop me from breakin'.
You gotta feel it to hear what I'm sayin'.

Maybe the problem with the rock n' roll man,
Is he gets to hide to truly understand.
Maybe the problem with the rock n' roll man,
Is he gets to hide to truly understand.
Maybe the problem with the rock n' roll man,
Is he gets to hide to truly understand.
Maybe the problem with the rock n' roll man,
He gets to hide.

I don't need drugs to get me where I'm goin',
Only six strings and I can't stop playin'.
I only need your love to stop me from breakin'.
You gotta feel it to hear what I'm sayin'.

I don't need drugs to get me where I'm goin',
Only six strings and I can't stop playin'.
I only need your love to stop me from breakin'.
You gotta feel it to hear what I'm sayin'.

Song Lyrics

Doesn’t seem to notice split ends
And claims stains are from coffee
No one around to hear coughing
Knows but just cannot stop it

Aspirations to be a pharmacist
Always claims be dehydrated
Rules and laws are just overrated
Waking early always hate it

Saw her walking home one day
I said I know her, "your teacher"
And I said dad that girl is my age

Decay is just destruction slowly
Depending on the path you’re going
When you see yourself everyday
It's not something you notice
She used to be so beautiful
But then all the chemicals
Came in

People are dying down the road
But on this end it gets you high
Do you even question why
Do you think your family cries

Every time they see your face
And you’re a shell of who you were
Sunken face, your words slur
Dreams permanently deferred

We saw her walking home one day
I said I know her, "your teacher"
And I said dad that girl is my age

Decay is just destruction slowly
Depending on the path you’re going
When you see yourself everyday
It's not something you notice
She used to be so beautiful
But then all the chemicals
Came in

Seth Bishop completed the lineup that September as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. They have since played multiple shows around the greater Portland area and on September 16th, 2016 they released a 5 song EP called Out Of Time.

Song Lyrics

Can you please pick me up, I'm drowning
even though I know how to swim
Why have I floated so far away
into this sadness I'm in

Can you pick me up from This Numbness,
I'm falling down
This life was so pointless 'til you came around

Today is the day i write my eulogy,
even though I don't know what that means.
I want to make you laugh, the way you used to.
What happened to those kids that
were on top of the world

Can you pick me up from This Numbness,
I'm falling down
This life was so pointless 'til you came around
you light up my life when you walk through the door
I need nothing more, you're what I live for

Don't think I'm done with you yet.
(This Numbness isn't worth it)
I'll never leave your side.
(You're with me until the day we die)
Don't think I'm done with you yet.
(This Numbness isn't worth it)
I'll never leave you're side.
(You're with me until the day we die!)

Can you pick me up from This Numbness,
I'm falling down
This life was so pointless 'til you came around
you light up my life when you walk through the door
I need nothing more, you're what I live for

Song Lyrics

Your mind in a state
and you won't come out
disconnection is fake
to figure out what it's all about
but i guess you can relate
as you sit in your chair
I guess I was weeks too late
but I won't forget you there

I'll take your hand in mine, for what I didn't know
This will be the last time you'll be able to show

Your eyes are getting old
but they can see just fine
those eyes spoke louder then words
as they looked in mine
Took a moment to realize that you'll never stop being you
Wish I could look in your eyes and say these words to you

I'll take your hand in mine for what I didn't know
this will be the last time you'll be able to show

So I won't let go
just promise me
this won't be the last time
I'll get to see
Your smiling face
When I say your name
'Cus i'll know you'll be there
When I say your name

Took a victory lap for old time sake
because i knew that you were strong
but I can't figure if the nurse is right or wrong
Took a moment to realize that you'll never stop being you
Wish I could look in your eyes and say these words to you
I love you

I'll take your hand in mine, for what I didn't know
This will be the last time you'll be able to show

So I won't let go
just promise me
this won't be the last time
I'll get to see
Your smiling face
When I say your name
'Cus i'll know you'l be there
When I say your name

When I say x3
your name

When I Say x2

When is a goodbye a good-bye
There's never anything good for you

Bio

Lindsay Mower is a rising jazz and blues artist in the rolling hills of Western Maine. She currently resides in Farmington, Maine where she studies at the local University. Lindsay writes her own music, featuring a fusion of jazzy, folksy and bluesy tunes that capture the beautiful wilderness of rural Maine, the intensity of young love and her life growing up as a farmer’s daughter.

Song Lyrics

You learn how to live
When you can let it all go

When you no longer reap
What you can't bear to sow

Please don't mistake my words
For the rhythm and blues

Because I don't care to dance
In my ancestor's shoes

I will speak my words slow
So that you can understand

I've given you my heart
Oh, won't you give me your hand?

We can fall on our knees
Beside of your bed

You can leave all your worries
Inside of my head

But hey, I won't speak softly
No, I won't regret

When I'm trying my best
To work with what's left

You will tell when my mind is totally lost
In bed at night I'll turn and I'll toss

Oh, come on my lover, it's twelve o'clock
Don't leave me hanging alone at dark

Song Lyrics

I've been sitting by myself
Thinking 'bout time.
I've been sitting here alone
Thinking 'bout you.

I'd give it all to you, you'd give it all to me too.
I could put you on my pedestal, doesn't mean I'd ever know how to tell.

I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how.

If I had a peach, for every rose you’ve given to me.
I’d be comatose, from the sweetness in my blood.
And if I had a dime, for every kindness you’ve given to me,
I don’t know how I’d spend my time, ‘cause I’d be rich and have a family.

But if I lost a dime, for every lie that I have said.
Well I’d be working overtime, and watching marbles roll out of my head.

I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how.

If I lost a peach, for every time I let you down
Well I’d be growing peaches, and trying to ship ‘em right outta town.

But you know I’d send them all to you
You’d send them right to me too
I can put you on my pedestal
Doesn’t mean I’d ever know how to tell

I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how it’ll all go down.
I can’t tell you how.

Sound Off: Holly Clough

Song: Monte Carlo

Bio

Holly Clough is an eighteen year old singer-songwriter. She was born on December 22, 1997. As a young girl, she was very energetic and had a cautious but yet determined sense of mind. Through most of her early years she spend a great deal of time with her grandmother, who was an avid country music lover and a singer herself.

During the Christmas that she was ten, she got a electric guitar that she'd been asking her parents for what seemed like forever. Within a week, she started her first guitar lesson in the attic of an old music store, with a teacher who happened to be a local city council member. After almost a year, the guitar teacher left and assigned Holly to a new teacher, who was a young singer-songwriter attending college. After a few lessons, the teacher started to notice that Holly had a great interest in music and had a bigger capacity for learning and understanding music than most of her other students that where well into high school. While Holly was still only in fifth grade, her music teacher started to teach her the lessons that she had been taught the previous day at the college she was attending. To her surprise it took little to no effort for Holly to understand what she was trying to teach her. Soon Holly and her teacher where found working out her college music homework problem s together.

Throughout school, Holly was very shy and timid. She didn’t really have any friends and considered her only friend to be her cat, whom she adored. When Holly was eleven she was given a cellphone by her parents. Since she had no use for the cellphone she started to find use for it. At age eleven, Holly started to call major record labels in Nashville with a pitch saying: "Hi. My name is Holly. I'm eleven. I'm looking for a record deal." Although most hung up, she still persisted for months trying to get a label to recognize her. She soon realized that that wasn't going to work.

As an outlet to having no one to talk to and no one to relate to, Holly, at age eleven, started to write. She wrote about everything, her day, her problems, her feelings, and in some cases her sadness toward not being understood. One day she found herself humming something out that had popped in her head, then she sang it, and after a couple days of it still lingering there in the back of her mind, she wrote it down. From there she started to become a songwriter. It became a soon addiction that she never could get enough of.

After a mess in the school system Holly's parents decided that it would be of their best interest to homeschool her through a private school out of Pennsylvania. Through the Pennsylvania school, Holly received the highest of credits in music appreciation and creative writing with the averages as close as being a perfect 100%. At this time Holly was coming to the age of being fifteen. At fifteen is the time most kids take driver's education. Holly told her parents that she didn't want to take driver's education, but instead take vocal lessons. With her parents consent she cashed her saved funds for driver’s education for a semester of vocal coaching at a elite local private music school.

Through vocal coaching, her teacher also started to notice something different about Holly. Holly quickly grasped what took many people years to achieve in only weeks. Her voice teacher often would try to challenge her. After teaching her control through the song "All Through The Night" she decide to teach her "Dona Nobis Pacem" which was sometimes used for soprano auditions. To the teachers surprise, Holly started to conquer it very quickly. At the end of the course, the teacher wrote a letter to her parents summing up her thoughts toward the semester, and she wrote: "Holly is a remarkable young lady. She has a sweet voice and a disposition just to match.”

In early 2015, Holly graduated high school in a class of 32 students that stretched around the globe. She graduated a year and three months early and received two diplomas; one of high honors through homeschooling and another of honors through the Pennsylvania school. Since then she has continued to pursue her career as a country artist.

Song Lyrics

I was finally fed up with the week
Done with the people and everybody walked over me
Abruptly I looked to the sky
Jet streaming flying high
Brought me right where I am tonight
Spreading my wings so I can fly

Sunkissed you can capture the rest.
You know it's better yeah better when wet
Like a water color painting you can hold in your hands
A little piece of paradise that's holding you holding you in
You want to go where the oceans always open
Extended stay for only you to know
Pretending you're like in Monte Carlo

You can call me I'll just say I'm somewhere
laying down in the sand with the fresh air
And all you want is a vacation
Sick and tired of everyone's complaining
So picture it right here with me
Staying the day in an all year long summer breeze

Sunkissed you can capture the rest.
You know it's better yeah better when wet
Like a water color painting you can hold in your hands
A little piece of paradise that's holding you holding you in
You want to go where the oceans always open
Extended stay for only you to know
Pretending you're like in Monte Carlo

You can travel the world if you just close your eyes
You dreams ruch into the sky and you're still flying high
Like Monte Carlo
Like you're in Monte Carlo

Sunkissed you can capture the rest.
You know it's better yeah better when wet
Like a water color painting you can hold in your hands
A little piece of paradise that's holding you holding you in
You want to go where the oceans always open
Extended stay for only you to know
Pretending you're like in Monte Carlo

Like Monte Carlo
Like Monte Carlo
Like you're in Monte Carlo

Song Lyrics

Do you have a dream
Of a world that you're not living in
A place
Where people weren't starving
A home
Where we weren't fighting
Do you have a dream
Of a life without tears or heartache
No tornadoes
No floods or earthquakes
A place
Where we're all living okay

So
Why
Do we have to dream
Why
Can't we all just see
That we're living the same sheer reality
Oh Oh Oh
[Do you have a dream, have a dream]

Do you have a dream
Of a place
Where you learn without judgements
And being different wasn't such a punishment
And you could walk alone down a street
Without being afraid
You're gonna get beat
So
Why
Do we have to dream
Why
Can't we all just see
That we're living the same sheer reality
Oh Oh Oh
[Do you have a dream, have a dream]
Oh Oh Oh
[Do you have a dream, have a dream]

When you're all alone
And you don't feel at home
At home
And you've got nowhere else to go
Do you
Sit down and cry
Asking the universe why
Or do you keep on
Do you keep on
Do you keep on

Do you have a dream
Do you have a dream
Do you have a dream
So
Why
Do we have to dream
Why
Can't we all just see
That we're living the same sheer reality
Oh Oh Oh
[Do you have a dream, have a dream]
