10 on Tuesday: Songs of the Summer

I love listening (and singing and dancing) to music all year long, but there's something about early summer that makes music sound just that much sweeter. These 10 songs (in no particular order) are part of my summer playlist. What's on yours?

1. Little Mix - Wings

Fresh from across the pond, Little Mix is an all-girl group destined to take over the U.S. music scene this summer. This song is all you need to feel like a superhero. Be confident and ignore the naysayers and keep singing, "They're just water off my wings."

2. Andrew McMahon - Learn to Dance

Andrew McMahon is the previous frontman of Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin. In his most recent musical endeavor, "The Pop Underground EP", he brings us a new style of McMahon music. Pop to the core, Learn to Dance is a great tune you'll be listening to over and over again.

3. Demi Lovato - Made in the U.S.A.

All hail queen Demi. I love this girl. Made in the U.S.A. is a catchy little love song that showcases her flawless vocals. My love for Demi "runs deeps like a Chevy."

4. Conor Maynard ft. Ne-Yo - Turn Around

Want to dance? Turn this on. It's also great for running (I would know, I ran 6 miles today  with this tune on repeat for at least half the distance.)

5. One Direction - Up All Night

This song may have come out a while ago, but it's still one of my favorite summer anthems. "I wanna stay up all night and jump around 'til we see the sun."

6. Hanson - Get the Girl Back

Of course, I had to include a Hanson song on my summer playlist. This song is the first single off their upcoming album, Anthem. Can you spot all the famous folks in the music video?

7. Florida Georgia Line ft. Nelly - Cruise (Remix)

I love a good remix, especially when country and rap stars come together to produce a super fun, summery tune. Makes me wanna roll my windows down... And cruise!

8. Rita Ora - How We Do (Party)

Whether you're at the pool, barbecuing on the deck, or getting ready for a summer night on the town, this song will get you amped. Rita Ora is another musical transplant from the U.K.

9. Eric Hutchinson - Rock & Roll

This song, while not a new release, is a summer favorite of mine. I love the storyline and the chorus is super catchy!

10. Fall Out Boy ft. Elton John - Save Rock and Roll

Fall Out Boy? Yes! They're back! And they've got a track with Sir Elton John himself. This song has got it all. Powerful vocals, a major key change, and lyrics you'll want to scream-sing with your car windows down.

You can find of these songs on iTunes. Want free music? Open a Free4ME account at a participating credit union and score a $10 iTunes gift card!
