Have you heard? Maine’s Credit Unions are looking for the next Young & Free Maine Spokester. The Spokester job is a life changing experience.
There are so many great things about this job. Over the next few weeks, as we search for the next person to hold the title of Young & Free Maine Spokester, I'll bring you blogs and videos that show just how incredible the job is.
1. Every day is different.
I never know what a day will bring and I love it! I get to participate in so many different kinds of events, from concerts, to Financial Fitness Fairs, to local festivals. There's never a dull moment when you're the Spokester.
2. I get to travel all over Maine.
I've been all the way to Madawaska (I could see Canada from where I was standing!), down to South Berwick, and everywhere in between. I also spend a lot of time in the greater Portland area, where the Maine Credit Union League building is based.
3. I have met so many new people.
Each event brings a new set of people to spend my time with. I've made many connections and met several people I now call my friends.
4. The Green Machine gets me noticed. Big time.
"Can't hide in that car!" If I had a dollar for every time I heard that phrase... I'd have a lot of dollars. People recognize me as "that credit union girl". It's a cool feeling!
5. I learn new things every day.
I blog about many different subjects, but I'm not an expert in all of them. Through researching different financial topics, I've built and strengthened my own knowledge base.
6. The Young & Free Maine team is super supportive.
I work with the best group of people. Period. They are supportive and helpful and most of all, just great people.
7. I get paid to do what I love.
I love to make videos, I love to write, and I love having the freedom of travel. The best part about being a Spokester is getting paid to do all of those things.
8. It looks great on my resume.
Because of the nature of the job, I've learned to do many different things very quickly. I've become a "Jill of All Trades" which has really boosted my resume.
Guys, I work from home most days. Do you know what that means? Sweatpants. I know the other Spokesters will echo me on this. Sweatpants are a big part of what makes being the Young & Free Maine Spokester so awesome.
10. I get to be myself, everyday.
Being the Spokester, the main part of my job is connecting with the 25-and-under crowd. It is so important to be myself and let my personality shine. I am so lucky that I have a job that not only allows me to be myself, but encourages me to be myself, every single day.
Sounds like the ultimate job, right?
That's because it is.
