It’s day 4 of my 12 Days of Savings, and I’m back with another tip! It’s easy to get carried away and splurge on friends and loved ones in the spirit of the season. If you need help tracking all of your spending this time of year, there’s an app for that! Mint, Level Money, Dollarbird and BillGuard are all smartphones apps that can help you save during the holidays!
It's day 6 of my 12 Days of Savings! If you find yourself a little short on money this holiday season, take a look at the Young & Free Savings E-Book for tips on saving successfully! It's an extremely helpful resource. Oh, and it's free!
It’s day 7 of my 12 Days of Savings, where I’ll be sharing a money-saving tip with you everyday until Christmas! With meeting new people and a family that continues to grow, it seems like you have to buy more presents every year. My seventh tip for you is to switch it up and host a secret santa this year. Instead of buying everyone a gift, simply draw names out of a hat and buy a gift for the person you drew. But as much as you may want to, don’t tell them you drew them! It’s definitely a fun way to save money, and everyone still gets a gift! Also, with all the money you save, you can get an even more special gift. So draw some names and have fun with it, and I’ll see you tomorrow for day 8 of my 12 Days of Savings.
It's day 9 of my 12 Days of Savings, and I've got a quick tip for all the last-minute shoppers out there! When you go shopping for gifts, bring only cash and leave your cards at home. People tend to spend less when paying with cash and when you run out of money, you're done. It's easier to get carried away and go over budget when you introduce credit cards. Check back in tomorrow for my 10th tip!
It's day 10, and I've got another tip for saving this holiday season! Not all gifts need to be physical. You can give your time during the holidays! Instead of putting a dent in your wallet, show loved ones that you care by volunteering at their place of choice, helping with chores or simply spending time together. Make sure you check back in tomorrow for another tip!
It's day 11, and that means tomorrow is Christmas Day! My 11th tip for you is to host a potluck tomorrow. Instead of one person breaking the bank on all the food, have everyone bring a meal. You'll save some money and have a nice variety of food!
The tree is somehow still standing after a day with the entire family together! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Today is the last of my 12 Days of Savings, and my last tip for you is to go out and get next year's decorations now. Don't wait until the next holiday season! There is a pretty good chance you'll get them for a nice discount. Plus, you can just pack your new decorations away with what you already have!
