Let's raise awareness to bring an end to hunger in Maine

The Walking Tour to End Hunger was founded when Maine's credit unions and Brenda Davis, Director of Emeritus of Crossroads hunger organization, teamed up in 2002 with the goal of ending Maine hunger.

The Walking Tour's mission is to raise awareness about the severity of hunger in Maine. It symbolizes the struggle and courage of Maine's people that are working to feed their families. With the joined efforts of Maine's credit unions, and Brenda Davis, the walk has generated awareness and funds toward the cause, 100% of which stay in Maine and are distributed to Maine food pantries and hunger organizations.

Now in its 13th year, the walk has covered over 10,000 miles across Maine. This year, the walk will visit every county in Maine, including 84 communities and 92 credit union locations, both new records! The Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger will make a $113 donation to one food pantry in each of the 84 communities that Brenda visits. See the tour.

Credit unions, food pantries, local Rotary chapters, colleges, and the general public are all invited to join in the effort. You can help raise awareness by attending the walk, too! Even one canned good can count as your donation.

Take care,
