Changing Seasons Federal Credit Union in Hamden hosted their first ever Bikes and Beans - A Ride to End Hunger motorcycle ride this past weekend. It was a beautiful day for a 100-mile motorcycle ride, and the high turnout reflected that. Bikers came together to raise $2,300 and 100% of the proceeds went toward Ending Hunger in Maine!
The route began at the branch in Hampden, where there was a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, giveaways and some breakfast to get the day started. I followed the bikers in the Green Machine to China Lake, then to the Winterport Civic Center. The route was absolutely beautiful! The leaves changing colors and the windy roads made the drive easy on the eyes.
After the ride, participants sat down for a bean supper and a performance by Elvis impersonator Jessi Mallory.
This was a wonderful event, and shows that credit unions are truly here for the community. Whether it’s free checking and ATMs, great rates, convenient E-Services or coming together to raise money for a great cause, credit unions are there to help.
I hope to see you all at next year’s Bikes and Beans!
