Some of the most important steps you take in life are those leading up to your passion. The more steps you take, the closer you become to understanding the links between your passion and your skills. When you combine what you love and the skills at which you excel, you can create a business that you are passionate about, and a life that you love.
Many successful people today started their businesses from zero. But their drive and passion led them to success. Lewis Howes, Marie Forleo, even Oprah and Warren Buffet became successful because of their persistence and bold dedication.
In this article, I have taken 6 steps from Lewis Howes, on building a business from ZERO.
1. Research your market.
Know all that there is to know about your industry. If you are into selling make-up, farming fresh vegetables, cooking, designing, marketing, construction, learn the ins and outs of the market. Look at the competition. Talk to people who have experience. If your industry is flooded with competitors, don't look at that as a negative thing. As a matter of fact, it's a good sign that other people are successful in the industry. It means that there is money there.
2. Set a tangible financial goal.
Give yourself a goal. If you have a goal, then you can look back and analyze whether or not you made it. If you didn't reach your goal, why not? Setting goals keeps your business on track, and helps you see where you can improve. It also lets you know what steps you need to take in order to get there.
3. When you create a website, make the content shareable.
When people visit your site, make your content unique, and make it shareable. People want to be able to relate, and they want to engage. Keep your content relevant, and be unique!
4. Build a list.
Get to know your audience, and provide them with value. Email lists are a great way to continually provide your audience with value. If you are still thinking about what product or service you will sell, tune into the needs and wants of your audience. Your email list will turn into a market of future buyers.
5. Launch a product or a service you can sell.
Meeting the needs and the demands of your audience is critical. Your product or service should aim to solve a problem, offer a solution, and benefit the people who buy from you. Keep this in mind as you develop your product or service.
6. Start NOW. Learn and improve as you go.
Many people don't start because they feel that now is not the right time. The truth is, there will never be a "perfect" time to start. Thinking about perfecting products or services before launching turns out to be a waste of time. You can learn, and change, and improve as you go. Sometimes, learning by doing is the best way to learn how to make your product or service better. Many successful companies launch products before they are perfected.
If you have an idea that won't go away, get motivated to take action. Every step you take is one closer to finding your passion.
