Amidst the rough rapids and the splashing water, who has time to think about their credit score? Exactly. No one. And you don’t have to worry about it, because you can easily build your credit while you white water raft! Here’s how I used credit-building to my advantage.
This year, I wanted to plan something special for my younger brother’s fourteenth birthday. So we decided to go white water rafting down the Kennebec River.
First, I saved up some money for the trip. A total of $312 for three people, I made sure I had the money already in my savings account. Step one: have the money - done.
Step two, when I booked the trip I used my credit card. This was simple. All I had to do was give the rafting company my credit card information to make the payment. Step two: use credit card - done!
It usually takes a couple of days for the payment to be processed. So I anxiously awaited the day that I could go online to “make a payment” on my credit card! After that was complete, I was clear of my credit card payment. Step three: pay the money I owe - DONE!
Now, all that was left was to enjoy the white water down the Kennebec River! It’s credit - enjoy responsibly!
