Free or Cheap is the Best

First thing is first. I need to get something off my chest. Yesterday, I wrote a blog about improving your finances in 2012. Apparently I missed an error and the title reads, "Improving You Finances in 2012." I guess I need to improve my grammar as well! Phew! I feel much better that I got that out on the table.

I was using one of my favorite websites today (Stumble Upon) and came across this article on the Woman's Day website about free stuff, or nearly free stuff that you can get from various websites. Who doesn't like free stuff? I know I do! Here's some useful free things you could be capitalizing on!

Free Cookbooks

The lovely folks at Allrecipes.com offer free downloadable cookbooks for all different occasions. All you have to do is go to their tools and tips page and find which one works best for your kind of cooking! As someone who loves to cook, I find this to be very helpful.

Photo Software

I actually use this software and can tell you that it is a really great way to store, edit and organize your photos. The program is Picasa. It's a downloadable software program through Google. As someone who takes photos on the side and doesn't enjoy spending a ton of money on editing programs, this is a great tool!

Business Cards

I've mentioned this before, but it's worth saying again. Vista Print is a website that allows you to order 250 business cards at absolutely no cost to you (besides shipping and handling). I used this company when I made some cards for my photography hanging up in Starbucks. The cards were great quality and were sent to me in a timely manner.

Freecycle

I've never heard of this website before, but it looks pretty legit. Freecycle is a website that allows you to post slightly used things in a forum that are no longer of use to you. There is no charge, and you don't get money for your items, but if you need something out of your house and someone else could use it, it's a great way to rid your room of some clutter...or grab something that you may need as well. The hope is that if you get something from the forum, you will also put something on the forums as well.

Check for the whole list of free or cheap things you can get. You may just find some great stuff that you need!

What sites do you use for free or cheap goodies?
