Highlighting and celebrating young Maine business owners in the iEntrepreneur series has quickly become one of my favorite roles as the Young & Free Maine Spokester. These young entrepreneurs are emerging community leaders, and I think it’s important to support them and help spread the word about the businesses and their presence in the community! Starting a business at any age is difficult, and even more so at such a young age! With many young people leaving Maine in search of job security or a larger market, it’s important to recognize business owners proving that you can be successful right here. Each young entrepreneur inspires me in so many ways and I am so happy to share their stories with you!
Michaela McVetty is the owner of Sisters Gourmet Deli in Monument Square. She’s balancing going to school and being a business owner, and has a contagious, positive attitude. Michaela taught me that one of the most important fundamentals of being successful is having a support team to help you. Oh, and she blew my mind with some absolutely amazing sandwiches! If you’re ever in the Portland area, stop in for a bite to eat. I recommend the Macintuscan sandwich!
Do you know any young entrepreneurs that I should feature? If you do, let me know!
