It's Pumpkin Season

It's that time of year when everything is pumpkin flavored. Coffee, muffins, scones, pies, pancakes, you name it! Although many of these pumpkin flavored treats can be prepared in your own kitchen, the pumpkin spice latte seems to be the one I thought I could never do at home. Until now! Over the weekend one of my oldest friends treated me to a homemade breakfast complete with her very own pumpkin spice latte.

I love the idea of making my own pumpkin latte

Whenever I go out to buy one I'm always left with that syrupy extra pumpkin flavor at the end. It's actually kind of gross when you get to the end of that latte and its bursting with more flavor in the last two sips than the entire 16 once cup.  

So I looked around on YouTube for a short tutorial on how to make your own pumpkin spice latte. In the video, they suggest almond or coconut milk, but it's really up to you what kind of milk you want! 

So here is what you'll need: 

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1.5 Tbsp pureed pumpkin (from a can or homemade)
  • 2 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 Tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of coffee
