Lauren's Farewell!

Today is my last day as Spokester...

This is my very last blog entry as your Young & Free Maine Spokester! It's hard to believe this time last year I just landed my job as Spokester. Last July I busy trying to get everything figured out between writing blogs on financial topics, producing entertaining videos, and learning about credit unions.

Just one year later I feel like a credit union pro! I've had the chance to learn and grow so much in such a short amount of time.

Being Spokester allowed me to travel to parts of Maine I never would have gotten to on my own. And meet people I probably never would have met either. This job was not just a job, it was a life experience and a journey.

Thank you & goodbye!

A big shout out goes to everyone I everyone that had some part in making the Young & Free experience so wonderful. I could not have asked for a better team to have worked with at the Maine Credit Union League. My ideas were heard, I was able encouraged to grow as a young professional, and they were all around my biggest support system.

Former Spokesters Seth, Kylie, and now me too!

In addition, all the employees who make up Maine's Credit Unions are truly wonderful people. From Southern Maine to Aroostook County, you all are the ones who continue to make a difference in people's lives. The amazing work that credit union employees do every day made my job easy as the Young & Free Maine Spokester. So thank you, keep up the good work!

So, today I say goodbye to Young & Free Maine but it's not a sad goodbye. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in my life and I'm grateful for the opportunities the Young & Free Maine program gave to me. I'm still a believer in credit unions and I'll still keep spreading the word about them, there is no doubt about that, but it's time for Mallory to take over. I'm cannot wait to see what she does as the fourth Spokester!

Be well,

Lauren R.
