March Madness!

Okay so let's have a recap of the craziness of March so far, because this really is March Madness. We're in the thick of voting for our first Sound Off competition. The winner gets some sweet prizes so you should start voting if you haven't already. You also get one vote per day, so it's worth coming back! I get to see a new blog every day as well so you should be coming back anyway! Also, we have a pretty great announcement on the way next week as well, so you should be gearing up for that! It may or may not be another contest, and it may or may not be awesome. I know...March has a lot of awesomeness all in it at once. It's almost too much to handle! Alright, now on to the actual March Madness.

For those of you who don't know, March Madness is one of the craziest times of the year for college basketball. If you are a college bball fan, this is the most important time of the year for you. The stakes are higher then they have been all year and all the teams who made it to the big dance are out to prove that they are the best in the nation. Why do I love this time of year? Well, for starters, it's nice to turn on the TV (or internet. they stream it online now) and see an amazing game pretty much all throughout the last few weeks of March and into April. It gets my blood pumping and I find myself cheering for teams I don't really care about any other time of the year. GO GONZAGA! GO VCU! THAT'S NOT A FOUL! CRAP! THERE GOES MY BRACKET!

Yeah, if you watch sports with me, chances are I'll be yelling and screaming and cheering and every other emotion that ends in ing. One of the most fun parts of March Madness is filling out a bracket. If you haven't ever filled one out, I encourage you to do so. Even if you know nothing about sports, it's something you can brag about to your friends. Believe me, I've seen on more then one occasion the uneducated bracket filler outers destroying the experts. So if you aren't a bracket expert, what are some fun ways to fill out your picks? Well, here's a few I found entertaining.

Pick winners based on their alphabetical ranking. So anyone with an A would be considered a great team, and the XYZs of the bracket are lower seeds. It doesn't make a lick of sense to me, but people do it! Who knows, you just may pick some winners.

Pull Names out of a Hat

Put both teams in, pull out a name. It's as simple as that.

Go With Your Gut

Don't shy away from what your gut is telling you. Most of the time it tells me I need ice cream, but in sports, if you have a gut feeling that someone is going to win, you just may pick the right teams. Watch any game show...people who go with their gut feelings often times do decently.

If you are going to fill out a bracket, you should join the group I made on ESPN. It's called Young and Free Maine (isn't that fun?). There's nothing wrong with a little friendly bracket competition! Click here and join the group! Let me know who your pick is to win it all!

Who is YOUR pick for this year's March Madness?
