Limiting spending vs. limiting fun
Are your weekend plans leaving your wallet high and dry? Well, limiting your spending doesn't mean your fun has to be limited too. So, how do you set a budget for a weekend packed full of fun? Or an awesome night out with friends? Or a concert? And without sacrificing a good time?
This weekend I decided I did not want to sacrifice an ounce of FUN. Yet, I went to Boston with my sister to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the TD Garden in Boston.
Because we planned ahead and did a little research before leaving the house we spent less money than a typical trip to Boston!
We bought gas in Maine before we hit the highway, then my awesome and super smart sister Google searched "cheap parking" in Boston. Honestly, I wouldn't have even thought of that! So we paid $8 for parking in a garage versus the average $20 fee of parking in the Boston area. We were about a mile away from the Garden, so we rode the T on the Orange line into North Station, which is directly below the Garden. (My sister also made sure our parking spot was near a T stop).
Macklemore turned out to be a great performer. I appreciated that he took time to address the audience and tell stories along with his lineup.
Check out the Instagram video below is from his popular song "Thrift Shop."
After the concert we got on the T again, and got off at the Prudential Center and had a bite to eat at P.F. Chang's. It was late but they were still serving which was just perfect for us. Then we took the 2 hour drive home. It was rough, but we powered through and got home by 2:30 a.m.
Whew! Long night but so worth it!
