As I'm sure you have all heard by now, Miley Cyrus is not a little girl anymore. And if she didn't prove it to the public with her edgy haircut, then her performance last week on MTV's Video Music Awards certainly did the trick.
Everyone was talking about her scandalous performance the following day. From E! News to FOX news, everyone was having a debate over her racy dance moves and lewd gestures on stage. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Miley but she sure does know how to draw attention to herself.
Two days ago, Miley broke her silence for the first time since getting up on stage with Robin Thicke at the VMAs. In her interview it was clear she has ignored all the bad buzz and drama surrounding her performance. She commented, "how many times have we seen this play out in pop music?" Referring to previous VMA performances from Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Lady Gaga who all received criticism from each of the scandalous performances.
So if VMA history is correct, we'll see this play out in Miley's favor. She'll probably become more popular than ever before from this one performance. She broke out of her shell, took a risk, and when the dust settles we may find her to be on top of the pop music food chain. She certainly did steal the show from Lady Gaga who also performed at the VMA last week, but who was talking about her?
