Sabattus Regional Credit Union hosted their second annual Bike Ride and BBQ for Ending Hunger event recently, where 100% of the proceeds went to the Ending Hunger campaign. There was an awesome route, games, great food and a silent auction! They were able to raise $4,350! Community events like this that benefit causes such as the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger always remind me why I’m so proud to be a credit union member.
Why should this matter to us? Knowing that my financial institution truly cares about others, and brings everyone together makes me proud. Credit unions go above and beyond in not only making my experience amazing, but by doing that for the entire community as well. And while looking at the calendar for the coming month, I noticed a number of other fundraising events that support a great cause. I’ll be joining the Maine Credit Union League to volunteer at the Good Shepherd Food Bank, and Changing Seasons Federal Credit Union is hosting a Motorcycle fundraiser. Keep an eye out for those events, and watch the video below to see the wonderful event that the staff at Sabattus Regional Credit Union put together!
