Sassquatch, the 2015 Sound Off Winners, recently appeared on the WCSH6 207 segment. Besides appearing on the popular television segment, they have been busy writing, recording, and performing since winning the Sound Off Music Competition last February.
Sassquatch interview on 207 WCSH6 segment 2015
Sassquatch is a fusion band from Augusta. The six members have been playing together for a little over one year. Originally, Sassquatch had a vision to be a creative, collective community group to write and play music. "Sound Off was a catapult to pull it all together, and showed that 'we can do this.'"
The band started off by performing at shows with the help of some friends. With Sound Off, "we got to express ourselves to more than just friends, family, and the student community. Sound Off was really the first time getting out there at all."
The Sound Off experience gave Sassquatch the chance to record at Main Street Music Studios in Bangor, and to perform live at the Old Port Festival. After recording an impressive nine songs in two days at the studio, they are excited to launch their next album. Their first EP is already available at Bull Moose.
With big plans to perform across New England, and possibly buy a tour bus, the band is setting new and exciting goals. Help support local Maine talent, check out the Sassquatch Facebook Page for more information about their upcoming album, performances, and other cool stuff.
