With today being the last day of voting, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped me these past 18 days. To be honest, it has been overwhelming to see the amount of support pouring out from everywhere, whether it’s friends, family or people I meet at my workplace. It’s been a busy two and a half weeks, but I would not have traded it for anything. While I am generally an outgoing person, this opportunity allowed me to go out and meet people and tell them about this great new program coming to the state of Maine. It’s exciting to see how other people are also interested in Young and Free and how it will benefit the 18-25 year olds of Maine and the country.
It’s been a crazy two and a half weeks, mixed with radio and television interviews and promoting not only myself, but also the Young and Free program. I definitely have a newfound appreciation for anyone campaigning, whether it is for something as simple as a class officer in high school, or something as big as a public official. It takes time and it’s times like this that you have to rely on others to help your cause. So I say thank you to everyone. Thank you for the votes, thank you for the Facebook messages and reposting the Young and Free links on your walls. Thank you to the radio stations who let us talk about Young and Free, and to the television stations who also did the same. Most importantly, thank you all for wanting to hear about Young and Free Maine and how this program will benefit you.
…and now I wait.
