Sound Off Meets Street Eats & Beats

The winners of Young & Free Maine’s 2017 Sound Off Music Competition are getting ready to hit the big stage! The Northside Ramblers, Lindsay Mower and Bri Lane will be opening the 4th Annual Street Eats & Beats Food Truck Festival on Saturday, May 20 at Thompson’s Point!

The food truck phenomenon has swept the nation and has quickly expanded to the Portland market. Is there a better way to kick off the summer than with good food, good beer and good music? Our Sound Off winners will join The Darren Bessette Band and Hello Newman on stage, and will play their original songs in front of an estimated 3,500 people. With only one stage, all ears will be on our winners!

The festival is from noon-5PM and the first 2,000 people in attendance will be going home with a free signature event party cup! Thousands of people have already purchased their tickets, and with seven thousand more showing interest on the official Street Eats & Beats Facebook page, you should do your best show up early! As there is an abundance of great beer and drinks, this is a 21+ event, so make sure you have your I.D. ready! You can save buy purchasing advance tickets online for $10, which includes one beer voucher. Tickets are $15 at the gate.

Maine has an incredibly talented independent music scene, and the winners of this year’s Sound Off Music Competition support that completely. There was a change in venue this year, but Maine’s Credit Unions are so excited to see these young musicians on stage once again! Thompson’s Point has played host to notable national artists, and we’re happy to help our winners take that next step in their music careers.
