Sounds Like Someone Has a Case of the Mondays!

I don't know about you, but every once in a while I wake up on Monday and just go...BLAH! I have no motivation, my brain appears to not have anything exciting going on and I struggle to be productive. Thankfully, it isn't every week that Monday seems never ending, but today just feels like one of those days. Maybe it's because I have read lots of Facebook statuses about people going back to school today. Maybe it's because I am longing for some warm weather. Whatever the reason, I am determined to beat my case of the Mondays and help you do so as well! So what are some simple ways to make Monday happy? Well, here are some ways to make it feel more like a Tuesday...or some other day that isn't Monday.

Listen to Bon Jovi

Every once in a while, I need to plug in some inspirational music to get me amped up and my blood pumping. I don't know what music gets you going, but for me, nothing gets me going like a little Livin' on a Prayer or It's My Life. Suddenly, Monday doesn't seem so bad.

Go Tanning

I don't do this...nor will I ever. Well, I can't say I never will. If I lose a bet then maybe. But anyway, this time of year in Maine has a tendency for people to suffer from SAD, or Seasonal Affective Disorder. That funk you are in right now may actually be caused by your lack of sunlight. It's legitimate and people actually suffer from the disorder. How do you beat this and feel better? Well, one way you can at least make yourself feel a bit better is to go tanning. I don't mean go tanning every day and subsequently (five cent word of the day) look like an Oompa Loompa, but if you go a few times throughout the winter months, it can actually make you feel better. The tanning beds can act as an artificial replacement for sunlight. If you're feeling a bit gloomy, try it out!

Get up Earlier on Mondays

I don't know how early you get up on Mondays, but for me it's generally the same time as any other day (8:30ish if I am lucky). The website Lifehack.org says that getting up earlier on Mondays can help beat your case of the Mondays. Sure, it makes the day seem a bit longer, but generally speaking when you wake up earlier and get a good start to the day, the day passes faster. You can feel like you can accomplish more throughout the day. For me, sleeping in on Mondays rather then getting up and getting a head start to the day can make the day drag along. You feel groggy longer and aren't looking forward to the day. Get up earlier and see what happens!

Dress Happy

Monday is a blah day, we all know that. I have a tendency to wear sweat pants all day on Monday. Instead of wearing blah clothing, plan out what you are wearing for Monday, and make sure you wear bright colors. Wearing bright colors or wearing something a little nicer than normal will make you feel better about yourself. I have a beard, and I generally trim it up on Wednesdays, but perhaps by changing my trimming to Mondays, I will feel better about myself. It's worth a shot, right?
