Wellness Wednesday: Spring Clean Your Life

Spring has sprung!

The snow has completely melted in my yard so I think it's safe to say spring is here! And with spring comes spring cleaning... uh oh! The Green Machine definitely needs a bath and so does the floor in my room! But there are other ways to spring clean!

My friend and fellow Spokester, Jill Blaney from Young & Free Alberta has some great ideas to spring clean your life! Check out these three ways to clean up your life a bit:

Your online presence

Cleaning out your online “space” can help you feel more organized and relaxed — particularly if you spend a lot of time online. It's time to clean up a bit!

If you're like me the your email inbox is overrun with unnecessary correspondence, ads, unread newsletters, and spam. Take the time to clean up the inbox and by all means don't forget to unsubscribe to regular updates you no longer want! (Most newsletters and ads have a tiny “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of their message. Two seconds now will save you hundreds of emails in the long run!)

Your workout regimen

With the seasons changing, it might be a great time to change up how, where, and when you exercise. No need to be stuck inside, right? Go for a bike ride, a run, or a hike! Change up the time of day you workout or maybe download a fun new app to get you motivated and try new moves.

Make time to change your workout playlists. Music has a significant impact on your mood, so if you want to get motivated and kick some butt, then pair some good songs to your workout regime.

Your morning routine

A simple life begins with your morning routine. How you start your day can have dramatic effects on the rest of it. Try incorporating these easy changes and watch your life get a little easier:

  1. Drink a glass of water immediately upon waking. Get some water into your system early to keep your energy up, and jump start your digestive system.
  2. Wake up early enough to get ready without rushing. Give yourself an extra 15-20 minutes in the morning to slow down your routine and provide a buffer for emergencies.
  3. Do one thing that makes you happy before breakfast. Listen to music, dance a little, or read a chapter of a good book. Do one thing that makes you smile, then go tackle your day!

Hope this helps!
